A Little More Art

Today I decided to work on art. Not just any art but Art Cards. I am so fascinated with these little works of art. They are called ACEO's, which stand for Art Cards, Editions & Originals. They are only 2.5" x 3.5" the size of a trading card (like baseball or even playing cards). In fact, I used an old deck of playing cards for the base of my little pieces of art. Some of them I finished awhile ago but had never mounted so it was play around day....get those mounted and work on a couple more. I still have yet to figure out what to do with them once I finish. Should I join a swap/trade group, sell them or just keep them and if I keep them how do I display them. Oh well, I can figure all that out later, now I'm just happy to have some free time to play around with them.

These are the finished ones.

These are the ones that are still a work on progress or need to be mounted.

All of my cards have an acrylic base coat or two with a design and then other elements added on top except for the black card with the red paint. I like it so well I will probably leave it as is.

I found a lot of other cool ACEO's on ArtFire and made a collection to share with you. If you want to find out more about that piece of art or artist, just click on that picture.

Featured Artists from 1000 Markets

Sorry about missing yesterday's Wicked Recipe, but never fear it will be back next week. The cold that has been going around has gotten me down. I am on the mend and my head isn't in a cloud any more...okay not as much as it was. I created a special spotlight on some of the artists/crafters on 1000 Markets. Click on any of the photos to go directly to that product on the artists shop.

Some of these are fanciful and others are useful, but I was immediately drawn to them when I saw them.

Artists are: Flyleaf Books, Elenamary, Delightworthyn Art/wares, Isette, Emily Balivet, Carolina Cottage, Thyme2dream, Bella Beadjeweled, Mary Ellen Golden

Crafty Monday - Altered Art Keys

You ever had one of those days when you just couldn't get going...well besides being sick, today was one of those days. I have no ideas, no motivation and just want to lie in bed. So, for our crafting Monday, I dug up one of my blogs from another site to share with you today. So, here is an idea to reuse some of those old keys you have that you don't know where they came from or which lock they unlock.
One of the fashion icons this season is keys used as charms or pendants. Some of them were created for that use out of silver or pewter and others have been altered from original keys or old antique keys. Here is a fun tutorial on creating altered art keys. Thanks to Images by Kim (Kim Newberg) for posting this fun idea on re-using discarded items such as keys.
