It's Bead Soup Party Time

Welcome to the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party!

Finally, I've been waiting for this for weeks. Lori Anderson over at Pretty Things hosts a couple of Bead Soup swaps each year and they are so much fun. She matches up all the participants and then we send a group of beads, focal and clasp to our partner, make an item or items of jewelry out of what we receive and then we post our results. I got a great treasure trove of beads from my bead soup partner Janea of Organized Chaos and have had a great time putting some pieces together. First here is my soup, lovely blues, pinks and browns with buttons and hand dyed silk.

Now here are the pieces. I've already worn the triple gold chain with the two dangles, bracelet and the pearl earrings so much that they have become my favorite go to pieces. I remade the blue set a couple of times until I found a design I liked and finished this one on Thursday while it was snowing. I have enough of the blue stones and beads left to make a bracelet so that will be next. The metals I used are antique brass and antique copper. The metals were defined when I received the focal piece (on the blue necklace the encased lace) and the clasp (on the bracelet) which were antique brass, thankfully I had a bunch of this antique stuff that I hadn't used yet and this gave me the perfect opportunity. I used very few of my own beads and tried to make simple items that I would wear. I love all the pieces.

Now for a surprise, for all you blog hoppers or just readers of mine, I have a giveaway. I have used a few of the beads I had left from my bead soup and made this just for you. This is an antique brass chain bracelet with light pink glass and pink crystals. I'm not sure what the creamy pink stone is but I love it and added it to the bracelet center and earrings. All you need to do to enter is leave me a comment....that's it. I'll choose a winner on March 5th which will give everyone one week to visit me and comment. Please make sure I have an e-mail address to notify you or can find you through your Google/Blogger profile. Good luck and have fun blog hopping.

Please visit all these wonderful and jewelry designers blogs to see what treasures they received and made. You never know what inspiration you may find.

  47. Those pieces all turned out so nice. I especially love the bracelet (?) on the bottom middle. But they're all very pretty.
I'd love to have a chance to win your giveaway, too, as that piece is very pretty also.
